La Caldosa
This 3-hour experience will start with a tour in our backyard mini-farm where we grow veggies, flowers, and steward a native garden.
Food and culture are inseparable, so we will gather in the kitchen for a Plant-Based cooking lesson, discussing Afro-diasporic foodways, its history, the nutritional components of our recipes, and the symbiotic combination of ingredients that together, make a meal that nourishes us.
To share with you, we will prepare appies, a main, sides, and dessert, featuring a tasting of our house-made Mojo sauce and kombucha. After we have cooked our meal, we will gather around the table for a dinner party, either inside or outdoors listening to our favourite Afrobeat music featuring our brother, DJ Jigue.
